Review: BAP - Bad Man.

This makes the fourth BAP review I've written in eight months, more than the number of U Kiss reviews I've done. I need to take a step back and contemplate on the meaning of this...

Music Video
The setting for this music video was pretty amazing. Their dance sequence was shot at what looked like a eighteenth-century abandoned cathedral. And that abandoned city where the fight scene took place? Awesome. It made it look like they're living in this post-appocalytic universe where everything has been destroyed and everyone was turning on everyone. The music video actually does have a decent storyline. I mean, even though most of it is centered on the brutality and the fighting, but there were also flashbacks of the soldiers as they recall a time when it was peaceful with less violence.

There was even a hint of how it might have all started. In one flashback, you see this dodgy-looking dude exchange briefcases with another dodgy-looking dude. And just when the less dodgy fella turns around and walks away, the other guy shoots him in the back. That'll teach him to keep his end of the bargain!

Based on the many criminal dealings I've seen in movies, the briefcase the dead guy was holding would mostly likely contain cold hard cash. As for the other, who knows? It could be drugs. Or some kind of nuclear weapon built for mass destruction. Whatever it is, it was serious enough to reduce entire cities to rubble and cause the remaining survivors to go on an all out war with each other.

But here's the weird part. You see the whole world going crazy with everyone straight up murdering each others ass, and yet there BAP stands, calmly and unflinchingly chilling out on cars and singing about being a bad man. And even with everyone swinging around their guns and baseball bats, all six members never get so much as a scratch on them. In fact, at the end of the video when a couple of explosions went off, causing everyone to inexplicably fall to the ground and die, you still see the six of them standing in the center of the massacre like its no thing.

Even with everyone around them kicking up all that post-apocalyptic grime and ash, not a single speck lands on any of the members. Its like if Legolas was a Kpop idol.

Seriously, he could be modeling for a perfume right now.

There is only one explanation for this: BAP are secretly super heroes.

Like this, only more color-coordinated.

Song and Lyrics
I'm going to break this song into parts for this segment. There were some parts that were rockingly awesome, and others that were just......not. The chorus was incredible. The vocals were amazing and it really suited the sort of husky tone of music. All of them shone through in this song, except for Daehyun. Not that he was terrible, but after One Shot he set himself to a standard in which in my opinion, is going to be really tough to compete with. So this time he fell short but don't worry, Daehyun. Your moment will come!

"You are SO on my list, EJ."

As for the rapping, Bang Yongguk was amazing as always. Which is why I was so infuriated when they auto-tuned that section. They could have easily left out the crappy sound effects and recorded his real voice. Bang Yongguk's gruffness was more than enough to handle the rapping without sounding like a possessed computer.

The lyrics were interesting because they focused on real world issues, rather than the guy-girl relationship that is so typical in Kpop music. They talked about all the heinous crimes that go on in the world and how they're sick of it all. So they want to change things, and they call themselves a bad man because they want to overthrow corruption and crime and basically take the city back for the oppressed. And they are warning all those corrupted people to get the hell out of their way. I mean like wow, this song has such a dark theme, it actually scares me a little. Its hard to believe that the group singing it are made up of mostly kids.

Dance
By BAP standards, the choreography was really simple. I think it was done on purpose since BAP are all about the fierce expressions in their dance moves and to pull this dance off, they would literally need looks that could kill.

Yup, that'll do.

So there really isn't anything else worth mentioning, except for their spectacular chest-pumping-breathing sequence and Jongup's insanely cool back-flip.

Fashion
What can I say? BAP have always been the epitome of badass fashion in the Kpop world. Naturally this MV would be no exception. Although sometimes I think about it and it doesn't make sense that members like Daehyun and Youngjae have such pretty-boy faces and yet there they are, decked out in gangster clothing, rocking an ashy, dirty-faced look.

"What's crackin, punks?"

Having said that, I'm not really into the outfit they wore in the cathedral. Say whatever you like, but I usually associate pinstriped clothing with pajamas so to me, they look like they're getting ready for bed.

On to the subject of their hair. Daehyun's two-toned hair color looks great. It is so cool, it's indescribable. However, what renders me equally speechless is Zelo's hair, only this time not in a good way. It's just...I can't even......Gah, just look at it.

Well, there's no use crying over spilled milk now, Zelo.

Review: Lee Hyori - Crazy

Finally, I get a chance to review the queen of Kpop! It was killing me that I didn't get to write anything about her previous Monochrome tracks.

By the way, I want to inform everyone that I'll be heading off to Korea very soon. Yes, I'm wetting myself in excitement. Also, I'm thinking of starting a new blog, not about Kpop, but possibly my experience there versus the way it is at home. I'll keep you guys posted.

Music Video
I only have one thing to say: Lee Hyori is the best Kpop cross-dresser I have ever seen. Yoon Eun Hye and Park Shi Hye have nothing on her.

"This is what a real drag king looks like."

The MV played out on what looked like a Broadway setting. I heard that the female extras were from Korea’s Next Top Model which is cool. Although I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that one of her last singles was Miss Korea. Hmmm...

All in all, I thought they were pretty good actresses, considering that I know for a fact after watching America's Next Model, good acting is not a necessary skill set to be a top model. Note that the key word is acting, guys. Do not try this at home. You WILL NOT get away with it.

If this was real life, Hyori would be punched in the face.

Hyori was definitely the star of the video. Her role as the stereotypical lecherous, charming, suave playboy was played to absolute perfection. There was no hesitation, no awkwardness, just smooth all the way through. Even as she was lifting skirts, stealing kisses, and taking raunchy photos, she kept up that bad-boy smirk all the way. If it wasn't for the awful facial hair, I probably would have thought it was a real dude.

No, actually that is a lie. I knew it was her because I read an article about it in Allkpop. So I guess I was spared from making one of the most awkward mistakes ever.

Fist bump, dude.

Dance
The dance itself has a very oldies, Broadway style. It's the kind of dance where you would expect to see the dancers wear sailor outfits and wink saucily at passers-by. I can't tell if Hyori just isn't as strong a dancer as she is a singer, or if she is a good dancer but was just having a bad day. Either way, I thought the whole choreography was done a little half-heartedly. It lacked the usual vigorous energy that I would normally associate with this kind of upbeat song.

She couldn't summon the enthusiasm after being told she couldn't cross-dress on stage.

Fashion
Since Hyori spends the majority of the music video as a guy, the only comment I have to make would be the abomination of the aforementioned facial hair.

That mustache is actually a caterpillar.

As for the bustier, I'm not a fan of them in general, but I'll admit that Hyori looked beautiful in it. I suppose the females extras deserve to be mentioned though, as they wear a wide variety of outfits ranging from what looks like dresses stolen from the set of Sound of Music to the type of of outfits that are usually only reserved for Halloween.

Only in animes.

Review: Girl's Day - Female President

Music Video
The music video was a lot of fun and since the it was called Female President, the speech podium and meeting room was an awesome addition.

Pictured: The board meeting of every guy's dreams.

I especially loved the girl-guy(girl?) interaction between Minah and Hyeri. I thought it was hilarious the way Minah acted all coy and flustered around the guy she liked who unfortunately, was not who he appears to be. (*Spoiler Alert* Dude's a girl.)

But I'm kind of sensing a back story here. In 2.02 - 2.11, you see Hyeri opening doors for Minah and holding up an umbrella for her, no doubt to protect her from the harsh glare of indoor lighting.

Wait, why is he(she?) wearing heels?

From what I can see there, Minah is the big-shot female president, while Hyeri acts more like an escort than anything else. That means that Minah is scandalously involved with her bodyguard! Who is actually a girl! But wait, who's that other girl hanging suspiciously around Minah's car?

She is probably Minah's love rival. That would explain why she's hanging around the carpark which is totally not stalker-like at all, waiting for Hyeri to finish her work. And since all of them are seen in the same meeting room, I think it's safe to assume that all of them work in the same company as well.

So to recap: Both Minah and one of her employees are in love with Minah's bodyguard-slash-driver, who is in fact a girl dressed up in drag. I think I just introduced the setting for every soap opera ever.

And the plot thickens...

Song and Lyrics
You know they say that honesty is the best policy, and I feel that I need to be brutally honest here. This has to be one of the most offensive songs I've heard in a long time.

I think it's really great that Korea has it's first female president. However, I don't think that this is the right song to represent that. I'm not Korean, so I'm saying this more from a female's perspective, but I doubt the president would appreciate her accomplishments to be compared to something as inconsequential as confessing to a guy. If you were president of a nation developing at a lightning-quick pace with a neighboring country constantly threatening to blow your ass sky high, would you consider that kind of pressure to be as daunting as telling a guy that he's cute? I don't think so.

Maybe it's my problem. After all, I don't get what the big deal is about girls confessing to guys. And girls, I don't even know why you would want to. Just let the guys do all the hard work. But this song doesn't empower women the way it thinks it does. Honestly, I find it pretty demeaning.

The real shame is that this is actually an awesome song. It was upbeat, the hook was great and they have some crazy vocals. I would have loved it if not for the lyrics. Now I just feel like someone made me a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with an epic FU written on it in mustard.

And gave you the finger while you were eating it.

Dance
When it comes to the choreography, I'm torn. Some parts I actually did like, such as the part where they clapped along the beat during the chorus. At least it wasn't as cheesy as when 2PM did it. Shudder~~ And the salute part was very cool.

But then they had to ruin it all with the butt dance. When did it become acceptable to shake your butts in a recording camera that would ultimately replay it in front of other people? So you're shaking your butts into other people's faces. And considering that the shorts they were wearing barely covers their behinds, it makes the whole routine really awkward to watch.

Some netizens argued that it was the awkward camera angle that made it look trashier than it really was and I totally agree. I do think the cameraman did a pretty botch job of focusing on that particular area. But on the other hand, one can argue that there isn't really a good angle to shoot a dance that involves this much butt wagging.

Not this angle.

Not this.

NOPE.

Fashion
Today I'm going to give everyone a lesson on Kpop fashion, with a little help from the girls of Girl's Day. In the MV, you may have noticed the girls wearing a type of high-waist short shorts. The high waist is meant to create the illusion of a shorter waist, while the non-existent length at the bottom accentuates the length of the girls' legs. Both these aspects combine to make their legs look longer than they already are.

Now, I feel that I don't have to get into the whole Classy vs Trashy topic again. I think their pants are too short. you can almost see their underwear peeking out. That alone should suffice. Although I did recently read an article about 'The Ten Hottest Moments in Girl's Day's President MV', where the blogger proudly announced that they were bringing the 'Diaper Fashion' back (Her words, not mine). Now, I'm pretty sure she meant it as a compliment. Unfortunately, I can no longer look at those dia-, er, shorts the same way again.

Anyway, I want to apologize if this blog seems harsh to any Girl's Day's fans out there. I'm a a bit of feminist and it especially irks me when girls won't stand up for their own gender. Or worse, they degrade them whilst under the impression that they are doing a favor for females everywhere. So yes, the rant happened. I hope there were no hard feelings. Peace out.

Review: EXO - Wolf

I realize that this song is a tad outdated. I would have reviewed it a lot earlier had it not been for my frantic last-minute flipping through exam notes during the whole of last month.

Music Video
I've been meaning to write this for ages, but I kept putting it off because I heard that they were going to release a drama version of the MV. So I waited. And waited. And waited. And nada. Zilch. Where is the drama version, huh?? I was promised a Wolf drama MV!!! Not to mention I've been hearing all these rumors about the company not releasing it because fangirls threw a pigue after seeing one of the boys kiss a girl in the MV. I saw the teaser, it was a peck on the cheek. It barely lasted three seconds. Don't get your knickers in a twist.

Yawn~~

Okay, for those who might not know, EXO is split into EXO-K and EXO-M, which put together forms a Kpop group so big that I still don't know who is who yet. In fact, I only know one name, Kai, who is the magnae (I think), although I have no idea which one he is. Therefore, I have assigned nicknames for all twelve of them. Hope no one minds.

For example, this is Taeyang Jr.

This is mainly a dance video so I won't go into it much, but I've got to bring up that whole werewolf thing they had going on. When I first watched the MV, I thought it was pretty tacky. Sorry. But after watching their live performances, I realized that it was actually a good thing that it was added because it made the MV look more impressive. I'm not saying that their live performance sucked, just that the werewolf thing made a much more powerful impact. It had that Oomph! factor, even though it was a tribute to the worst movie ever.

Hey, if the wolf is Jacob, does that mean the other dude is Edward?

Song and Lyrics
From what I managed to find out about the song was that it involved all twelve members of EXO, it had a Korean version and a Mandarin version, and the distribution of the lyrics were different for both version of the song. This is a pretty smart move because it means that you can promote the song without worrying about the language barrier, and EXO members don't have to memorize their lyrics in both languages.

The historical-ish Japanese-sounding instrumental at the beginning of the song was so ethereal and mystical and lovely. And that was about the only thing I liked about the song. Sorry again. To be fair though, the vocal line did a really great job. One of them even sounds like Changmin from TVXQ. So they probably would have won me over if they had sang more than, like, three lines each. As for the rapping, which carried the weight of the entire song, it wasn't so much rapping as it was spouting the lyrics with a really intense expression towards the camera. I didn't feel it.

Still, the quality of the song didn't bother me as much as the lyrics itself. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice an underlying PG theme in the lyrics?

Pictured: not suitable for kids.

Call me old-fashioned, and I'm pretty sure many would argue that they are actually singing about being a werewolf and eating up a girl (Still creepy) or falling in love with her or whatever, but I find it just a tad disturbing that boys barely scrapping twenty are singing about smelling in a girl's scent and eating her up like she's a piece of cheese.

That's hot.

Dance
Any doubts I might have had with the song itself definitely did not carry over to their choreography. The dance was amazing. The swaying-tree thing at the beginning made with their bodies was without a doubt the best part. At first I couldn't figure out how two of the members were doing that Smooth-Criminal tilt, and then I realized that they were actually grabbing on for dear life as they leaned away from each other to create a more branched-out feel.

One advantage of having twelve members is that you don't need backup dancers. Having said that, arranging the dance moves for each of them was probably hell. In Super Junior's case, most of the time they have the same movements and their only job is to robotically in-sync. But for this song, the dance had a lot of freestyle but it was done in a deliberate manner so that it didn't look sloppy, but also not over-rehearsed either.

This part is cool.

Even when they had to interact with each other while keeping to their own designated space, they handled it like a boss. From the human tree to the human den to Jacob Black, the dance was awesome.

However, there was one part of the dance that I couldn't help bursting into laughter when I saw it, although I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to be funny. In the chorus when they sang "I'm a wolf.", the members held up both hands to their ears, like, well, a wolf. That was all kinds of weird. To me, making animal-ears with your hands is something that should remain strictly within the realm of bedtime stories when you're trying to scare little kids by pretending to be the Big Bad Wolf.

Although they kind of look like Chihuahuas if you squint.

I take my hat off to you guys. You pulled it off with a straight face.

Showdown
Last but not least, for this showdown, which howl did you prefer? Taeyang Junior in Wolf, or L Joe in Miss Right? Both look like they just saw a hot chick walk down the street.

Review: Henry (SJ-M) - Trap

So...
It's been more than two weeks since my last review...Sigh.

I know my reviews are coming out more and more sparsely but everyone needs to bear with me here because I just finished with Exam Month and I am more than a little frazzled. However, it is now a new month and I am back, baby!!!

Music Video
Henry is one of the few idols known to be skilled with various instruments including the piano, so very smart move SM, opening the first scene with Henry playing the piano. But since we're on that subject, holy-crap-you-did-not-just-step-on-that-absolutely-gorgeous-grand-piano-Henry. Dude, those things cost up to ten grand! And he even sets it on fire at one point. Omg, I think I'm going to cry.

Anyway, this isn't really a typical SM-styled video since it has an actual plot this time. It kind of reminds me of Boa's Disturbance where the girlfriend died and the grieving boyfriend can't accept that she's gone. But in this video, he goes crazy and starts seeing her everywhere. And when he finally realizes that she is actually a figment of his imagination and that he needs some serious therapy for seeing his dead girlfriend everywhere, he flips out and starts trashing the place. Cuz who can afford to see a therapist these days.

"Gahhh!!! I still have to pay for the damn piano!!!"

I suppose it was sort of creative in a everyone-keeps-picking-on-us-because-of-our-weirdly-lit-boxes-so-we're-gonna-take-the-whole-GD-roof-off way to take off the ceiling of Henry's house, but since the song title was Trap, in a way it would be more fitting to have Henry in an enclosed room. In fact, what makes this even hilarious is that when Henry whispers “I’m trapped.”, the camera immediately pans out to show an open door right next to him.

"I'm trapped......Oh wait, I'm not."

On a side note, the video in the beginning wasn't that great because it had that shaky-camera thing that Kpop likes to do so often. I was surprised that it showed up in Henry's video though, since SM is usually impeccable when it comes to video editing. I'll never figure out why editors keep doing that since it makes for really bad video quality. So SM, you should just keep doing what you're doing. There's no need to follow any Kpop video-editing trends.

Lastly, the ending was pretty anti-climatic in my opinion. You see Henry driving around in an anguished daze and then......nothing. Honestly, I kept expecting something to happen, maybe the car flipping over and exploding in an blazing inferno, or maybe his girlfriend creepily appears and tries to strangle him, or something! But no, he just drives around for a while before reaching home safe and sound and setting his piano on fire. If you weren't going to add some tragic moment to it, why would you have that scene in the first place?

SM representative - "Cuz it looks badass. Duhhh."

Song and Lyrics
It goes without saying, I loved the piano part in the beginning. Yay, piano! Although now that I think about it, for the most part he only played about two notes so I don't think I should be that impressed.

As for the song, even though it wasn't the kind of song that stops you in your tracks and makes you want to sing and dance along to it, it was a good attempt for his first solo. So you get a thumbs up for effort.

I think I should address the presence of Taemin and Kyuhyun though. What were they doing there? I though this was supposed to be a Henry solo, not a subunit consisting of Henry, Taemin and Kyuhyun. It would have been different if say, Eunhyuk was featured instead, since many times an idol would be featured to rap for another idol's solo. But instead they get Taemin and Kyuhyun, who are both vocalists, to sing about two lines each out of the whole song. What gives?

Dance
Henry is from Super Junior, which would mean that super awkward dance moves is to be expected. In this case, it's the hand-waving movement at 1.48 minutes which makes all of them look like an 18th century English gal trying to flag down multiple taxis.

But apart from that awkwardly random few seconds, pretty much the rest of the dance was great. During the chorus, the part where Henry crosses both hands over his chest like he was being entrapped was pretty meaningful, since his lines at that exact moment were "I'm trapped.". And the gun-cocking move at 0.55 minutes was awesome. I only wish they could have added some sound effects during that part, considering they even added the sound effects when Taemin did his spin during 2.00 minutes. You think I didn't notice, but I totally did.

EJ Maria, helping out Kpop MVs since 2013.

And of course, the handkerchief tossing part was amazing, especially when they threw it up and caught it as it come down, or when they flung it at the audience. Or even when they draped it over their shoulder and it somehow magically stayed on while they were dancing.

Need I say more?

Fashion
For the most part, Henry wore totally normal outfits, which is pleasantly surprising considering that he is from Super Junior who are known for their affinity for bizarre clothing and neon boxers. Although I'll have to admit, when I saw him in the outfit in 0.32 minutes, I thought he was getting ready for a WWE smackdown with those backup dancers if not for the fact that he was still playing the piano.

"I'll give you a piece of me!! As soon as I finish playing!!!"

Review: CL - Baddest Female

So......
My last review got a ton of hits. Wow really? Cuz I just re-read it (Yes, I like to stalk myself from time to time) and I thought that it was awful. Seriously, it was so bad I felt almost embarrassed for having the audacity to release something as low-budget as that. This is what I get from continuous sleepless nights fueled only by countless disgusting cups of coffee.

Music Video
From first glance, this looked like a female version of GD's MVs. But the more you watch it, the more you realize that this has a totally different vibe from GD. CL was unconventional, yes, but there was both structure and style in this video. You could see that there was purpose in there; it wasn't just about CL going wild and doing whatever the hell she wanted in her video. On the other hand, GD's MV was......just insane.

Speaking of which, GD and Taeyang made an appearance in the music video. I shouldn't be surprised, Big Bang shows up in everything. They are like the kings of random cameos. The world of music videos belong to them.

This is the future.

Come on, it's the girl's first solo! Let her have her spotlight! Although them being there did prove one thing: CL is totally fierce enough to hold her own against two members of Big Bang. Even when the camera would switch to them every now and then instead of her, there was still no doubt in my mind who the main character was.

Seriously though, I still have goosebumps from watching the video. I have never seen any female Kpop artist show that much swagger in their music videos. In fact, I haven't seen that many guys do it either. CL has this ballsy, I'm-sexy-and-I-know-it attitude about her and that kind of confidence is something you absolutely cannot fake.

I really don't have anything bad to say about the video. It was fun, it was well-edited and it was so YG. If I had to make one comment about it, it would be that the video got kind of weird nearing the end. First you see CL stranded in some tropical jungle, with straggly hair and soaked to the bone. Then we finally get our first glimpse of the Hood in Korea which is where 2ne1 came from, and also where CL scares the living daylights out of random children.

Also, there is a cat-lady for some reason.

Song and Lyrics
Anyone who follows my blogs would know that I'm usually a ballads girl. So even though I like the song, it doesn't contain any of that hold-my-breath, heart-wrenching moments that I sometimes get with other songs. But I will say this: This song totally represents CL. It was bold, it had attitude, no, it had CL...erm, -titude written all over it. It was perfect for her. If YG plans to promote CL as a soloist, then she is off to a phenomenal start.

Most of the song was great. When she said "This is for all my bad girls, not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good", That line was EPIC. It was a little humorous, but also so full of badassery that you couldn't help but be filled with awe. The other rapping was great (Of course it was great, this is CL we're talking about). the singing was gr- Wait, was there any singing? Yes, there was. Okay, then that was great too. Although I did think the Unnie-Yoooooo~ part was weird. I mean, it just sounded really awkward. U-Nnie-Yooooooo~ Unnie, Unnie, Unnie, He-

"Shut up."

Dance
CL does a hip-hop-tiger-crouching dance which makes it difficult for me to comment on it, so I won't.

Fashion
I'm not going to break down every single outfit she wore because it would take forever. Let's just keep it short and say that Cl looked incredible in the video. Those golden-fanged grills were definitely a little out there, but CL wore them well.  And even though most of her outfits were quite revealing, it wasn't trashy. CL managed to wear them with both class and confidence. I mean, just look at those uber sexy legs! Wait, that didn't come out right.

My favorite outfit is without doubt the black strappy leather outfit with chains all around her face as she stood on that cliff yelling to all her bad girls. She looked like a hot dominatrix, which when you consider the fact that she was holding a horse whip at one point, isn't really that far-fetched. Okay, is there a rising BDSM trend in Kpop that I should know about?

"I'm going to hurt you so good."

CL's boy vs girl outfit was hilarious. But she made a tiny slip-up by wearing high heels while she was in her male character. Guys don't wear high heels, CL. Well, except for Jokwon and occasionally GD I suppose.

Actually that's GD in drag.

Speaking of which, GD, don't think I didn't notice that you forgot your pants in the MV. Just because you're a leading fashion icon in Kpop does not give you a free pass to wear boxers in an MV. Come on, dude.

Behold GD on the left, in all of his pantless glory.

Gah......I can't feel my fngers.....

I seem to be using this excuse a lot, but I really have been sick a lot these days. I caught a bug that's been going around lately and now I'm currently typing this through a fever-induced haze. To make things worse, my finals are coming up next week. Why do I always get sick right before my exams??

Anyway, I really wanted to do a review this week but that doesn't seem possible since I can't even crawl out of bed at the moment. So I'm really sorry, guys. Next review will be out next week, I promise.

Review: 2PM - A.D.T.O.Y

So...
This is the review for 2PM's second MV. I did my best, but it's still somewhat lacking compared with my usual blogs. Am I losing my touch?

Music Video
Compared with Come Back When You Hear This Song, this music video wasn't nearly as interesting. But I have to say, I'm digging the black-and-white tones. Very classy.

This is probably going to be a boring review since the music video doesn't really give me much to talk about. I mean, it's basically 2PM making out with their girl in every possible location ever. On the bed. In the bathroom. In the kitchen. On the staircase. Up against the wall. In the car. Ooh 2PM, you so nasty~~[1]

And while we're on that subject, I don't know what it is with 2PM's music videos, but they make it very obvious that they're really into sharing, especially when it comes to girls. In their previous video, the girl hooked up with all six of them on a rooftop. For this song, we see several close-ups of the girl's tattoos, just so there is no mistake that they are in fact, getting frisky with the same girl.

Cuz sharing is caring and all that shit.

One of the tattoos is spelt LILERITAS, which sounds like the name for some mythical Greek being, which sounds flattering until you remember that the Greek mythology also included Gorgons. The other was a snake coiled on her ankle, which might have had more of a double meaning. Maybe it refers to the girl as a snake for dating all the members of 2PM at the same time. Or maybe she's as bendy as one.

tumblr.com
That's hot.

Song and Lyrics
Now I've mentioned this in my previous review, I really like their new song. It's funny that I would say that though, since it combines everything about Kpop that I usually dislike - an electronic-sounding autotuned voice and over-repetitive lyrics. And yet, it was catchy and sexy and compared with Come Back When You Hear This Song, it's much more in sync with their new album concept. It shows them as grown, matured men who sings about how much they're anticipating the night to come, so that they can be with their girl, deeper and deeper and deeper...... Hmm, I don't think we're talking about bingo anymore.

photobucket.com
Tetris, maybe?

Raunchy lyrics aside, the falsetto part was pretty amazing. Like wow, I'm really impressed. But Chansung bro, I gotta be honest with you. Your rapping for this song was kind of awkward. Maybe this was an isolated case because I never had a problem with his rapping before. Still, Chansung's rap needed some work.

Dance
The dance was a lot better than Come Back When You Hear This Song, but I still think that 2PM can do way better than that. Sorry guys, but I'm not that easily distracted by swaying hips and those hands sliding sensuously down your bodies.

Well okay, that part was pretty hot. But while I respect their choosing to focus on a more sexy concept for this album, I'm still hoping that someday they might go back to doing back flips or making human pyramids. That was what made them awesome from the start.

I don't have any major complaints about the dance, although their choreography at the beginning kind of reminded me of a couple of guys on treadmills.

Stare at this long enough and you'll see my point of view.

Still, overall 2PM did a good job. There wasn't a strict choreography to follow, in fact most of the time they had to dance separately but still be in perfect timing with each other, and they pulled it off really well. But there was this one thing about the dance, the part where they grabbed the front of their pants and pulled left to right. It kind of reminds me of the crotch-grabbing move that Kpop dudes just love, except it was more......grown up, I guess?

"This is how real men do it, son."

Anyway less is more, guys. Let's just tone it down next time, yeah?

Fashion
For the most part, the guys look great in this video. Their clothes are simple and understated. Lots of leather, and also some disapproval from fans over Wooyoung's wild messy hair, but I liked it. I especially like Junsu's wide V-neck shirt. He usually doesn't stand out that much in terms of fashion, but this time he totally did.

Nickhun's outfit however, stands out in a different way. That leather jacket and military hat combination kind of makes him look like someone you might see at a S&M club. All he needs is a whip looped around his arm. Just saying.

 "Hands up, baby."
