Review: 2PM - A.D.T.O.Y

So...
This is the review for 2PM's second MV. I did my best, but it's still somewhat lacking compared with my usual blogs. Am I losing my touch?

Music Video
Compared with Come Back When You Hear This Song, this music video wasn't nearly as interesting. But I have to say, I'm digging the black-and-white tones. Very classy.

This is probably going to be a boring review since the music video doesn't really give me much to talk about. I mean, it's basically 2PM making out with their girl in every possible location ever. On the bed. In the bathroom. In the kitchen. On the staircase. Up against the wall. In the car. Ooh 2PM, you so nasty~~[1]

And while we're on that subject, I don't know what it is with 2PM's music videos, but they make it very obvious that they're really into sharing, especially when it comes to girls. In their previous video, the girl hooked up with all six of them on a rooftop. For this song, we see several close-ups of the girl's tattoos, just so there is no mistake that they are in fact, getting frisky with the same girl.

Cuz sharing is caring and all that shit.

One of the tattoos is spelt LILERITAS, which sounds like the name for some mythical Greek being, which sounds flattering until you remember that the Greek mythology also included Gorgons. The other was a snake coiled on her ankle, which might have had more of a double meaning. Maybe it refers to the girl as a snake for dating all the members of 2PM at the same time. Or maybe she's as bendy as one.

That's hot.

Song and Lyrics
Now I've mentioned this in my previous review, I really like their new song. It's funny that I would say that though, since it combines everything about Kpop that I usually dislike - an electronic-sounding autotuned voice and over-repetitive lyrics. And yet, it was catchy and sexy and compared with Come Back When You Hear This Song, it's much more in sync with their new album concept. It shows them as grown, matured men who sings about how much they're anticipating the night to come, so that they can be with their girl, deeper and deeper and deeper...... Hmm, I don't think we're talking about bingo anymore.

Tetris, maybe?

Raunchy lyrics aside, the falsetto part was pretty amazing. Like wow, I'm really impressed. But Chansung bro, I gotta be honest with you. Your rapping for this song was kind of awkward. Maybe this was an isolated case because I never had a problem with his rapping before. Still, Chansung's rap needed some work.

Dance
The dance was a lot better than Come Back When You Hear This Song, but I still think that 2PM can do way better than that. Sorry guys, but I'm not that easily distracted by swaying hips and those hands sliding sensuously down your bodies.

Well okay, that part was pretty hot. But while I respect their choosing to focus on a more sexy concept for this album, I'm still hoping that someday they might go back to doing back flips or making human pyramids. That was what made them awesome from the start.

I don't have any major complaints about the dance, although their choreography at the beginning kind of reminded me of a couple of guys on treadmills.

Stare at this long enough and you'll see my point of view.

Still, overall 2PM did a good job. There wasn't a strict choreography to follow, in fact most of the time they had to dance separately but still be in perfect timing with each other, and they pulled it off really well. But there was this one thing about the dance, the part where they grabbed the front of their pants and pulled left to right. It kind of reminds me of the crotch-grabbing move that Kpop dudes just love, except it was more......grown up, I guess?

"This is how real men do it, son."

Anyway less is more, guys. Let's just tone it down next time, yeah?

Fashion
For the most part, the guys look great in this video. Their clothes are simple and understated. Lots of leather, and also some disapproval from fans over Wooyoung's wild messy hair, but I liked it. I especially like Junsu's wide V-neck shirt. He usually doesn't stand out that much in terms of fashion, but this time he totally did.

Nickhun's outfit however, stands out in a different way. That leather jacket and military hat combination kind of makes him look like someone you might see at a S&M club. All he needs is a whip looped around his arm. Just saying.

 "Hands up, baby."
